Well hello there. Hope you all had a fabulous Halloween. We did. Who doesn’t love a reason to wear something completely ridiculous and eat lots of candy? Genius.
Okay so get to it. Announcement #2.
On November 17th, 2010, it will be the 2 year anniversary of when we started doing “New Song on the 17th.” Many of you reminded us of this recently and we decided that we needed to commemorate it in some way. You guys have been so supportive of NSOT17th and it has been so much fun to do every month. We’ve had a lot of requests for an album with some of the songs on it.
SO….on the 2 year anniversary, (November 17th) we will be releasing an 11 song acoustic album called “Songs On The 17th” for you guys! The 11 songs will all be originals and all songs we have done on a previous NSOT17th vlog.
The two of us set up a little studio in the living room and recorded the whole album in 2 nights. Each song is one take and completely live…as to try to stay true to the Song on the 17th vibe. There is no one else playing or singing on it…there wasn’t even anyone else in the room during the entire recording process. Just the ol’ J&K.
In the next week, you will be able to pre-order the album at our Facebook store. We will keep you updated so keep checking back.
This album is for YOU! We recorded it because you guys keep coming back to see the NSOT17th every month and have inspired us to keep writing and sharing it on our blog. THANK YOU! We hope you like the new album!

An album? For ME? Y’all shouldn’t have. No, you totally should! Love. It! BTW, that’s just silly. OF COURSE we’re gonna like the new album! I have to say the whole “acoustic, just y’all LIVE” is gonna make for an awesome, awesome album. SO EXCITING! (And I’m in love with caps, apparently!)

After I read your announcement, I realized I read it at 11:17 my time. LOL. I’m thinking it’s a good sign. Hope so.
For some reason I thought your first SOTS was on January 17, 2008, because I think I saw a YouTube video of you two singing a new song that day, but now I realize you were probably sporadically posting songs at that time, and 11/17/2008 was probably the first official announcement that you would be doing that every month. Well, Happy Early Anniversary! Very exciting news indeed, and what a fun way to announce it. LOL Can’t wait.

I am as excited for this album as I have been for any other release this year.
First of all, JillandKate are awesome; that’s a given. But more importantly my favorite kind of music is the unpolished, organic kind that’s heavier on feeling and lighter on fanfare. Acoustic material seems to serve that better than a lot of the more produced types of releases.
Anyway, I wish artists would release much, much more of their little late-night afterthought jam session-y types of songs, because those are often the best, and don’t always get all the credit.
Well, I’ll be looking forward to it. That is all. Can’t wait to see what songs are on there!!!

I’m soooo freaking excited and happy! I’ve been waiting all day for this announcement (had to work all day). Came home to watching the Rangers play and they lost the WS but I had to come here to find out what the announcement was to turn my mood around and it sure did!
